Traditions
Parade
Our parade is a community tradition that features local businesses, organizations, and community groups and anyone who wants to participate. It's a great opportunity to showcase your patriotism and get involved in the celebration. Each year the parade features a couple or a family from the community as parade royalty, as well as Little Mister and Little Miss Firecracker. The Little Mister and Little Miss Firecracker contest is held on the the evening of July 3rd.

The parade has several categories in which over $500 in prizes can be won. The categories are: best of parade, best religious entry, best horse, best automobile, best bicycle, best tractor, best ATV, best fire truck, best dressed pet, and best band. Parade winners will be announced from the stage after the parade and prizes can be picked up at the raffle stand. If you would like to be in the parade please contact Tom Boatman at

Concessions
Our concession stand opens on the evening of July 3rd, and again after the parade on July 4th.
We have delicious tenderloins cooked on site as well as hot dogs, soft drinks, and ice cream.
All proceeds from the concession stand go to fund the Independence Day celebration next year.

We also have numerous vendors with yummy treats for sale. Make sure you get a little bit of everything the celebration has to offer!
Live Music
Every year we have several live bands who perform on the evening of July 3rd and throughout the day on the 4th of July. These concerts are completely free to the public! Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the upbeat atmosphere! Music genres range from patriotic to gospel and from country to classic rock.
Musical entertainment for 2025 includes Mercy's Bridge Band, Lacey Milhalevich, and our headliner is Shaky Ground!

Raffles
Door Prizes Raffle:
Every year we have a raffle for door prizes, all generously donated by regional and Midwest businesses. Sales for door prize and grand prize raffle tickets begin on the evening of July 3rd, with the first door prizes given away that night. The raffle sales and giveaways continue on July 4th. You do need to be present to collect your prizes for this raffle.
Gun Raffle:
Each year we raffle a gun. Stay tuned for information about this year's gun raffle. The winner will be drawn before the fireworks display on July 4th.

Grand Prize Raffle:
Sales for grand prize raffle tickets begin on the evening of July 3rd and continue on July 4th, with the grand prizes drawn before the fireworks display. You do not need to be present to win a grand prize. The 2025 grand prizes are: $500 gift card to C&R Market in Edina, MO, $300 Visa Gift Card, and $150 Gift Card to White Castle in Edina, MO.​​​
Fantastic Fireworks Display
Every year we conclude our 4th of July celebration with a fabulous display of fireworks. Kids and adults alike will ooohhh and aaahhh as the night sky is illuminated with beautiful reds, greens, purples, golds, whites and blues. The patriotic display lasts approximately twenty minutes and marks the end of our yearly celebration of Independence Day.
